Only the Truth Shall Set Us FreeIf "The 9/11 Commission Report" was the answer, what was the question? In other words, what was it that the Commissioners (who authored the report) set out to do?Fortunately, the above queries have been answered unequivocally by Thomas H. Kean and Lee H. Hamilton, respectively the chair and vice-chair of the commission, and the authors of the official report on the horrific events of September 11, 2001. In an elegant hard-covered comic book entitled "The 9/11 Report", which is based entirely on their original report, they state in the Foreword:"It was the goal of the Commission to tell the story of 9/11 in a way that the American people could read and understand. We felt strongly that one of the most important and tragic events in our nation’s history needed to be accessible to all. Our goal in The 9/11 Commission Report was not only to inform our fellow citizens about history but also to energize and engage them on behalf of reform and change, to make our country safer and more secure. (italicization added) So there you have it in the Commissioners’ own words: the report as written was intended to serve a political goal. The commission’s purpose was to tell the American people what the U.S. Administration wanted it to hear. Did it also strive to be truthful and comprehensive? It is well established that the Commission listened to, but did not include mention of, many hours of testimony that did not fit well with the official story, among them the statements of William Rodriguez and Sibel Edmonds. San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown and FBI agent Colleen Rowley made public statements that implicated foreknowledge of the attacks by the Bush Administration, but the Commission ignored them. Norman Mineta, himself a cabinet member of the Administration, gave evidence to the 9/11 Commission which implicated Vice President Cheney as having given stand-down orders to Air Force interceptors. His testimony was totally ignored by the Commission, and Mineta has been well rewarded for his subsequent silence on the topic.Their stories and many others have spawned the phenomenon now known as the 9/11 Truth Movement .For skeptics of the official 9/11 story, exhibit A is usually the collapse of building 7 of the World Trade Centre (WTC7) . WTC7 was the 47-storey steel-framed skyscraper that fell on its own footprint from the base upwards at 17:20 on September 11. It was not struck by an airplane, nor did it suffer serious structural damage from the collapse of WTC1 and WTC2 (the Twin Towers). Videos of its collapse provide indisputable evidence that it was a controlled demolition. But a controlled demolition by whom? Who could have planted the explosives, and when? The CIA (Central intelligence Agency) had offices in WTC7, as did the New York Office of Emergency Management.What did the 9/11 Commission Report say of the building’s collapse? It does not even mention the building’s demise. Before you say "Oh, no, not another conspiracy theory!", consider this: someone or some agency conspired to destroy WTC7 – that conclusion seems inescapable. It then becomes solely a question of who you would believe conspired – who, why and when? The Commission doesn’t even attempt to pin this one on Al-Qaeda. In his book "Towers of Deception", broadcaster Barrie Zwicker details 26 ‘exhibits' (including ‘exhibit A’ above) that challenge the official account of the 9/11 events.Retired theologian David Ray Griffin in his book " The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions And Distortions", raises far more unanswered questions and anomalies. Today the ghosts of September 11 very much haunt the stage of world politics, and in a sense they touch the lives of almost every inhabitant of this planet in multiple ways. Will we ever be able to exorcize them, or perhaps more importantly, will we ever allow them to speak their truth, so that they and we can rest and start afresh? In other words, will we ever really know who did what on that day, and for what reasons? All that can be said with certainty at this date is that the real truth has yet to emerge. Chiseled into the marble above the entrance to the Central Intelligence Agency in Washington are the words " You Shall Know The Truth, And The Truth Shall Set You Free". That may have been the goal of the CIA when it was first established 60 years ago. Today we have many reminders that the role of the so-called intelligence agencies in the United States (and the United Kingdom, and Canada, and….) is more to fabricate something that will pass as truth in order to serve political ends. Those words, "the truth shall set you free", were penned by the apostle John (in John chapter 8, verse 32) over 19 centuries ago. What foresight! Here are a few websites to ponder. A recent Google search using the terms "9/11 theories truth" produces about 5 million hits. Curiously, not much is to be found in the mainstream media on this topic, though.
